Vice Dean of Our Faculty, Prof. Dr. Yücel Namal, Conducts Academic Visits in Azerbaijan
Zonguldak Bülent Ecevit University has added a new one to its international academic collaborations, maintained under the motto “one nation, two states.” Prof. Dr. Yücel Namal, Vice Dean of the Teoman Duralı Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences and Head of the Department of History, held significant meetings as part of his visits to Azerbaijan's leading scientific and academic institutions.
Strategic Meetings with Scientific Umbrella Organizations and Higher Education Institutions
During his visit, Prof. Dr. Yücel Namal met with Prof. Dr. İsa Habibbeyli, President of the Azerbaijan National Academy of Sciences (AMEA), the supreme umbrella organization of the Azerbaijani scientific world. The meeting focused on the modern-day reflections of the long-standing academic ties between the two institutions, while evaluating opportunities for joint research projects and strategic cooperation.
Continuing his program with a series of engagements at Baku State University (BDU), Prof. Dr. Namal met with BDU Rector Prof. Dr. Elçin Babayev, Azerbaijan National Assembly Member Nagif Hamzayev, and Dean of the Faculty of History Prof. Dr. İbrahim Zeynalov to discuss academic collaboration opportunities.

Sharing his evaluations following the meetings, Prof. Dr. Yücel Namal stated:"These productive meetings, aiming at strengthening our scientific and cultural bridges with Baku State University—one of the most established educational institutions in Azerbaijan—form the foundation of our future joint endeavors. With this visit, our university has opened the door to concrete collaborations with the Azerbaijani academic community in areas such as joint symposiums, student-faculty exchange programs, and digital archive projects. Following these meetings, Prof. Dr. Yücel Namal also visited the Turkish Ambassador to Baku, Prof. Dr. Birol Akgün, and the Baku Counselor for Religious Services, İhsan Aktaş, to discuss their valuable work in the region.
